Challenge overview

A framework to adapt after checking your actual exam date and available study hours.

Schedule note: This is a 50-day study framework, not a claim that 50 calendar days remain before the exam. The exam window may start sooner. Check the official NTA notice and your subject-wise date, then compress the plan if needed.

Recommended daily balance

Paper II — Computer Science

Main study block: textbook concepts, worked examples, algorithms, diagrams, formulas and topic-wise PYQs.

Paper I — General Paper

Use your reasoning book and Udemy PYQ course. Rotate through all Paper I units, not reasoning alone.

Daily minimum deliverable: one topic summary, a timed question set, corrections to your error log, and a 10–15 minute recall session of yesterday's material.

Library book checklist

Tick the books you find or issue. Exact editions are not essential; use a standard edition available at your library.

Do not try to read every book cover to cover. Use the official syllabus to select chapters. A current UGC NET Computer Science guide with solved PYQs is useful as a companion, but verify its answers and use standard texts when explanations are weak.

Priority if time or library stock is limited

1) Discrete Mathematics, 2) DBMS, 3) Operating Systems, 4) Data Structures and Algorithms, 5) Theory of Computation, 6) Computer Networks, 7) Computer Architecture. Borrow the remaining books as references when needed.

50-day study plan

Open a day to see the topics, practice targets and daily output. Mark each day complete when its core tasks are done.

Daily timetable

Example for a high-intensity day. Adjust start times around lab work, meals and other responsibilities.

Important: 10–12 hours is an ambitious target. Count focused study time, not breaks. If this compromises sleep or research responsibilities, reduce the hours and keep the routine consistent.

Suggested focused time: about 11.5 hours, excluding breaks. You can use a shorter 6–8 hour version on busy research days.

Paper I strategy

Your resources: reasoning book + Udemy PYQ course.

How to use your Udemy course

  • Attempt the question before watching the explanation.
  • Record why each wrong option is wrong.
  • Tag errors as concept gap, calculation error, misreading or time pressure.
  • Repeat incorrect questions after 2–3 days and again during final revision.

How to use the reasoning book

  • Practise a small set daily rather than reading passively.
  • Write down shortcuts only after understanding the method.
  • Time yourself once accuracy becomes stable.
  • Do not let reasoning crowd out other Paper I units.

Weekly review and error log

Use this section to track performance rather than relying on hours alone.

Weekly review checklist

Notes / error log

Write down difficult concepts, recurring mistakes, mock scores and topics to revisit. Notes stay in this browser only.

Rules for the challenge

Consistency, retrieval practice and analysis beat passive study.

End-of-day check: Can you explain the topic without looking at the book, solve representative questions, and explain your mistakes? If not, schedule a short revisit instead of pretending the topic is complete.

Official syllabus and exam updates

Use official NTA sources to confirm syllabus, dates, exam-city information and admit-card notices.
